Dr Matthew Wong

Dr Matthew Wong graduated from The University of Melbourne in 2008 with Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) as well as Bachelor of Medical Science (BMedSci). He obtained First Class Honors for his research thesis on invasive breast cancer and this had led to a few journal publications.

Dr Matthew Wong completed his internship and 2 years as a hospital medical officer at Western Health in Melbourne. He underwent 6 months intensive training in Paediatrics and 9 months in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. He successfully obtained a diploma of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (DRANZCOG) from the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 2012. He also successfully completed his GP specialty training and was awarded the Fellowship of General Practice (FRACGP) in 2013.

Dr Matthew Wong is always passionate about medicine ever since he was young and never stop learning to increase his skills and knowledge. Since he started general practice, he realised that there is a strong need in skin cancer medicine as Australia has the highest number of skin cancer in the world and Shepparton has a higher proportion of population at risk of skin cancers. Since 2014, he started attending a great number of workshops, conferences and courses related to skin cancer medicine via the Skin Cancer College Australasia (SCCA). He was awarded the diploma of skin cancer medicine in 2015 and the diploma of dermoscopy in 2016. He is getting a great pleasure to be able to offer comprehensive skin check and surgical treatment for skin cancer in Greater Shepparton.

Dr Matthew Wong's main focus in general practice is to deliver the highest possible standard of general and preventative medicine. Outside of work, he enjoys playing badminton, tennis and running. He also has a beautiful wife (Felicia) and 2 adorable kids (Lucas & Louisa).
